England got their Nations League campaign moving in Prague as Anthony Gordon and Harry Kane struck after the break to secure a 2-0 win over ten-man Czechia.
England made to wait
Pavel Sulc's first-half red card left Czechia a man down, but England still had to work for the breakthrough. Morgan Rogers struck the post before the interval, while Kane was denied by goalkeeper Matej Kovar and Ladislav Krejci diverted a Lewis Hall cross against the woodwork.
The chances were coming. The finish England needed arrived two minutes after the restart, with Trent Alexander-Arnold supplying a superb cross from the right and Gordon stooping to guide his header into the far corner.
Gordon delivers again
It was Gordon's third goal in as many England appearances, following strikes against Spain and Argentina. His movement gave Alexander-Arnold a target, and the delivery gave the forward the chance to turn England's pressure into a lead.
The assist also marked a strong return for Alexander-Arnold on his first England start in almost two years.
Kane puts the result beyond doubt
Kane added the second 20 minutes after Gordon's opener. That ended Czechia's resistance and gave England the reward their pressure deserved.
Thomas Tuchel's side had lost 3-2 to Spain at Wembley three days earlier. This was a calmer response: a clean sheet, two second-half goals and the first three points of their Nations League campaign.
